Job summary

The Met - East Bay Campus in Newport, RI seeks an Advisor (High School Teacher) to guide students through their Learning Plans within a Big Picture Learning framework. You will support 17-20 students for 2–4 years, collaborating with families and mentors to steer learning and internships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and Rhode Island teaching certification.
• Proficiency across multiple subjects and a content specialty.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Reliable transportation with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Big Picture Learning philosophy of education.
• Facilitate trimester learning plan meetings with students and families.
• Forecast educational needs based on interests and abilities.
• Identify learning opportunities and internships for students.
• Monitor student internships through site visits and mentor meetings.
• Report on student progress through narratives and calls.
• Lead advisory sessions and participate in staff and PD days.
• Maintain comprehensive student records as required by law.
