Job summary

Williamsburg Learning is seeking enthusiastic Outdoor and Leadership Mentors to serve as Adventure Guides in Utah regions. You’ll facilitate hands-on learning experiences that foster personal growth, resilience, and leadership development in students in grades 6–12.

Guides support Outdoor Adventures earning PE credit and Leadership Adventures earning elective credit through field trips, service projects, and simulations.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years old and one year post–high school.
  • Outdoor/leadership experience preferred.
  • First Aid & CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with SIS, Canvas, Zoom, Remind, and Google Suite.
  • Ability to mentor youth with authenticity and enthusiasm.
  • Experience working with students in grades 6–12.

Responsibilities

  • Support transformational learning experiences during adventures.
  • Attend trainings on the Williamsburg Adventures model.
  • Lead 1:1 conversations, group discussions, and reflections.
  • Travel to assigned geographic areas to support programming.
  • Inspire, challenge, and engage students during activities.
  • Guide students through activities, take attendance, and assist with setup.
  • Ensure student safety from drop-off to pick-up and report observations.
