Position Summary:

The Advancing Employment project has a critical need for a Program Coordinator. Advancing Employment is Georgia’s Technical Assistance Center for Best Practices in Employment Supports (www.advancingemployment.com). The project provides information and training on how people with disabilities can and do work. Two primary areas the Coordinator will interface: 1) the Community of Practice (CoP) and 2) approved in-depth trainings for providers with Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) and the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Primary duties include Tracking on-line applications for CoP and various trainings, overseeing the training credential process and awarding certificates, assisting with applicant and member questions, setting up and hosting virtual trainings, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
  • Demonstrated Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated skills hosting large groups on Zoom. Familiar with chat rooms, typical user issues, and other technical issues.
  • Demonstrated Experience with online forums, preferably as an administrator.
  • Understanding of how Moodle and Relias platforms work.
  • Highly organized.
  • Above average communication skills and problem-solving.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) and Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) providers can apply for 40-hour training sessions emphasizing Customized Employment and job development skills. Upon completion, participants will receive a nationally-recognized certificate for their work. This credential is recognized by the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE).

  • Participate in various weekly and monthly meetings; review emails regarding assistance and forward to Project Director.
  • Set up weekly Zoom debriefs with trainees.
  • Send emails to the group with follow up information.
  • Problem-solving platform issues (Moodle and Relias).
  • Update training excel files.
  • Assist with answering participant questions.
  • Work with various training credentials.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Providers can also sign up to part of a Community of Practice (CoP). This is a learning and sharing space for providers, with the goal to improve employment services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Review applications submitted via the website. Verifying credentials.
  • For approved applications, approve in the website portal.
  • Organize, promote, and host webinars. Work with the Outreach Coordinator to post to the website.
  • Check all materials are accessible. When necessary, assist with captioning of videos.
  • Oversee online forum. Approve user posts. Encourage user activity.
