Job summary

Family Promise of Gallatin Valley, based in Bozeman, MT, seeks a Development Director to lead fundraising efforts and advance the organization’s mission to end homelessness in the Gallatin Valley. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years in fundraising, donor relations, development, or nonprofit management.
• Experience building and executing fundraising plans with measurable goals.
• Proven track record in cultivating and soliciting major gifts and collaborating with leadership and boards.
• Strong written and verbal communication for donor proposals, reports, and presentations.
• Experience preparing grant proposals and managing foundation funding relationships.
• Experience budgeting for fundraising programs and tracking revenue and pledges.
• Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Bloomerang) and donor data management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate with diverse partners.
• Commitment to the mission of Family Promise of Gallatin Valley and supporting families served.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies, revenue goals, and donor engagement plans with the Executive Director and board.
• Lead annual and multi-year development plans with timelines, budgets, and milestones.
• Oversee major gifts program including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Coordinate annual giving and fundraising campaigns (e.g., Give Big Gallatin Valley).
• Manage grant development and reporting in collaboration with the Senior Grant Writer.
• Oversee development communications and donor-focused materials and campaigns.
• Maintain donor records, gift processing, acknowledgments, and pledge tracking.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and donor restrictions.
• Lead collaboration with the board and volunteers on fundraising initiatives.
• Provide supervision, training, and performance management for development staff.
