Job summary

Elon University is seeking a Coordinator of Advancement Communications to tell the university’s story across multiple channels. The role supports alumni, parents and friends by producing communications from concept to final product and working with University Advancement and campus partners.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years of related experience, strong writing and editing skills, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office suite
• Knowledge of social media and email marketing strategies
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Manage an editorial calendar for multi-channel communications
• Produce, coordinate and send mass emails and texts
• Write, edit and review various communications, interview subjects and capture stories
• Manage Elon Alumni Social Media Ambassadors Program
• Plan and implement Elon’s day of giving communications strategy
• Use Adobe Photoshop and InDesign to create communications materials
• Coordinate regular updates to University Advancement websites
• Train staff on mass email platform and other communications tools
• Liaise with partners for mass mailings (University Communications, mail houses, printers)
• Collaborate in a team environment to support campus communications initiatives
• Support inclusive community building and engagement efforts
