Job summary

Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School in Palo Alto, CA seeks a relationship-oriented, strategic, and proactive Assistant Director of Advancement & Alumni Engagement to join our Advancement Team.

This role leads alumni programming, stewardship, and annual fund strategy, while collaborating with colleagues to expand donor engagement and grow lifelong connections to Hausner. Start Summer 2027; full-time schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in advancement, fundraising, donor relations, or related nonprofit setting.
• Ability to build authentic relationships with a broad range of people.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience managing a donor portfolio and annual giving campaigns preferred.
• Experience developing or managing alumni or constituent engagement programs preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Alumni Engagement: Develop and manage a comprehensive alumni engagement program that builds lifelong connections between alumni and Hausner.
• Donor Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of leadership level Hausner donors and prospects, strengthening relationships and giving.
• Annual Fund Strategy & Communications: Collaborate to develop and execute the Hausner Fund strategy and fundraising calendar.
• Donor & Community Engagement: Attend events to build connections with parents and alumni, and collaborate across departments to advance fundraising goals.
