Job summary

Baystate Mercy Hospital, part of Baystate Health, seeks a Radiology Technologist to operate diagnostic X-ray equipment under Radiologist supervision. The role includes fluoroscopy, NICU/Pedi/OR imaging, and outpatient X-rays, with occasional mobile procedures in surgical suites and patient rooms.

Candidates must hold MA RT license and ARRT Registry and have 2 years radiology experience (1 year at BH). Strong clinical judgment, safety compliance, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• MA RT license and ARRT Registry required.
• Minimum 2 years of radiology experience with 1 year at Baystate Health.
• Proficiency with imaging equipment and related software.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Operates diagnostic imaging equipment per Radiologist specifications.
• Performs routine, specialized, emergency and urgent imaging procedures.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers and adheres to safety standards.
• Maintains equipment, supplies and a clean imaging room; ensures proper QC.
• Coordinates with physicians, nurses and staff to optimize patient flow.
• Documents demographics and exam data accurately in systems.
• Ensures timely transfer of images to PACS and notifies Radiologist of critical results.
• Adheres to JC, MQSA, ACR regulatory standards and department policies.
• Assists Radiologist with sterile procedures as required.
• Maintains radiation safety for patients, staff and self.
