Job summary

Motlow College's Writing Center at Northeast State Community College is seeking a part-time Writing Center Advanced Tutor to support students through tutoring sessions and basic office duties. Reporting to the Writing Center Coordinator, you will conduct one-on-one tutoring, assist with building writing skills, manage appointments, and respond to inquiries from students and faculty.

This on-campus role emphasizes professionalism and reliable office support throughout the Fall, Spring, and Summer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience teaching or tutoring English at the college level.
• Master’s degree or higher in English or a closely related field from an accredited institution (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
• Assist students with building their writing skills.
• Schedule tutoring appointments as requested.
• Answer phone and email inquiries from students and faculty regarding the Writing Center.
• Assist the Writing Center Coordinator with maintaining office records, scheduling, internal marketing, promotion, and outreach.
