Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a Wind Technician I (Advanced Level) for the Peetz, CO area. This stationary wind tech position focuses on safe field-based maintenance and diagnostics to keep wind farm operations reliable and productive.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components, and collaborate with the team to improve reliability and performance. Candidates must meet the listed qualifications and be able to work outdoors at heights.

Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED required (or equivalent).
• 3+ years in a technical field, OR completion of a technical certificate/degree program.
• Ability to climb wind turbines up to 300 feet.
• Post-Offer Functional Capacity Eval required.
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL).
• Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment.
• Completes electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Maintains all company supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling.
• Applies advanced understanding of the technical and process functions; basic QA/QI awareness.
