Job summary

Energy Steel & Supply Co. seeks a Welder/Fabricator with strong fabrication and welding skills. You will read blueprints, prepare parts, cut, fit, tack, and weld fabrications, and follow welding procedures to ensure quality and traceability.

Requirements include 3–5 years of related experience and the ability to pass welding qualification tests. Work involves shop duties, safety practices, and use of typical fabrication equipment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related experience and/or training.
• Capable of GTAW, GMAW and FCAW processes (minimum).
• Operational proficiency in Oxyfuel Torch-cutting and Plasma Arc cutting.
• May be required to pass 6G GTAW/FCAW tests.
• Read & interpret engineering drawings and standards.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication tasks supervised by Shop Foreman.
• Welding tasks supervised by Welding Engineer.
• Complete fabrication projects with minimal supervision.
• Review Shop Traveler and Welding Procedure Specifications for requirements.
• Ensure materials are correct and released for fabrication.
• Prepare parts for fit-up and cutting with oxy-fuel or plasma torches.
• Fit, tack, and weld fabrications as required.
• Operate shop tools and perform basic machining as needed.
• Maintain adherence to Welding Procedure Specifications and quality documentation.
