Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Field Inspector in the Indianapolis area to provide daily inspection of construction activities across projects. You will monitor adherence to plans, specifications, and contract provisions, while maintaining detailed daily logs.

You’ll perform standard measurements, material tests, and prepare as-constructed sketches, escalating discrepancies as needed. This is a hands-on role for timely project delivery and quality control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years construction experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Observe, document, and verify contractor work for contract compliance.
• Perform standard calculations and measurements of completed work.
• Maintain daily inspector logs including labor, equipment, and materials.
• Conduct on-site material testing and create as-constructed sketches.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
