Job summary

Automatic Data Processing, Inc. seeks a Lead Operator for the Advanced Water Treatment Facility.

You will supervise daily operations including UF, RO, UV AOP, chemical handling, and data management; act as designated operator-in-charge when the CPO is absent, and coordinate with the CPO on safety and QA/QC standards. The role requires 3+ years of supervisory experience, appropriate operator certifications, and the ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and nights.

• Must possess good verbal, written and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisor and the general public.
• General computer knowledge; good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Physical: lift up to 40 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, work weekends/nights/holidays as needed, on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and performs a variety of assignments related to operation and maintenance of an advanced wastewater treatment facility (UF/RO/UV/AOP).
• Serve as the Designated Operator-in-Charge in the CPO's absence.
• Plan assignments with the CPO to ensure workflow progress.
• Assist the CPO in assembling operating and regulatory reports; understand contractual obligations for the facility.
• Develop operational SOPs and training curriculums.
• Monitor plant equipment and processes; collect water quality samples.
• Manage chemical inventory; maintain membrane systems.
• Operate and maintain electronic operations and management tools.
• Train staff per CPO requests; maintain reports and logs.
• Coordinate with CPO and Maintenance Manager on safety and facility issues.
