Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly technical control systems engineer to develop control algorithms for advanced chassis and driveline systems in a hybrid work environment. The role emphasizes model-based design, real-time controls, and close collaboration with systems engineering teams.

You will model propulsion dynamics, implement algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and Python, and validate designs using MIL/SIL/HIL and hardware tests across prototype vehicles.

Qualifications

• B.S. or equivalent in a field with a control systems focus.
• 3+ years in dynamic systems modeling and real-time controls development.
• 3+ years in xEV vehicle controls development.
• Strong knowledge of automotive controls and vehicle dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Develop control algorithms for advanced systems and verify via MIL/SIL/HIL.
• Leverage CAE models to analyze system interactions and guide design.
• Define and review physical system testing and characterization.
• Provide controls and software support to Systems Engineering and Functional Safety teams.
• Create documentation for system models, use cases, requirements and validation tests.
