Job summary

FEV Group in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a Vehicle Controls & Brake Controls Engineer to contribute to development of advanced control systems for conventional, hybrid, and electric vehicles. You will design, calibrate, and validate control algorithms, work with software and hardware teams, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance through MiL/HiL testing and vehicle validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, mechanical, or control systems.
• 3+ years in vehicle controls, brake controls, chassis controls, or related automotive systems.
• Proven experience in vehicle control development, brake control, and vehicle dynamics.
• Strong understanding of control algorithms, modeling, and calibration techniques.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.
• MiL/HiL testing and vehicle-level validation experience.
• Knowledge of safety standards and automotive tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize vehicle-level and brake control strategies.
• Define system and functional requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Integrate features at system level ensuring safety standards.
• Calibrate and validate control algorithms via simulation and testing.
• Work on prototype and production-intent solutions to meet specs and regulations.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and validation teams.
• Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement throughout development lifecycle.
