Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a chassis controls engineer to innovate features, develop specs and verification plans for control systems, and perform systems engineering including failure mode avoidance. You will work with Ford engineers and Tier-1 suppliers to define feature interfaces and validate software through MIL/SIL and HIL testing.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or related field, plus 1+ years of controls and state machine development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ years of controls system and state machine development experience
• Good communication and project management skills
• Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, passion to improve customer satisfaction
• Good teamwork skills
• Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Preferred)
• 5+ years of controls system and state machine development experience (Preferred)
• Demonstrated experience in Matlab/Simulink Experience applying Systems Engineering (Preferred)
• Familiarity with Vector CANAPE and CANalyzer (Preferred)
• Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems (Preferred)
• Experience developing and executing test plans (Preferred)
• Experience applying engineering disciplines for failure mode avoidance (Preferred)
• Familiarity with ISO-26262 (Preferred)
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe tools and processes (Preferred)
• Demonstrated proficiency with CAN communication and databases (Preferred)
• Experience developing software requirements (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Innovate new Chassis control features and functions
• Develop specifications and design verification plans for control systems and features
• Perform systems engineering on Chassis Controls Features and Function including Failure Mode Avoidance
• Work closely with Ford engineers and Tier-1 suppliers to develop feature interface requirements
• Perform software functional validation (MIL/SIL testing) and work closely with HIL test engineers
• Conduct Functional Safety analysis and implement actions
