Job summary

East Mequon Surgery Center LLC in Wisconsin is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to support a variety of procedures, maintain aseptic technique, and assist with complex cases as needed.

You will set up and operate equipment per physician specifications, ensure a sterile field, participate in instrument preparation, and help with patient positioning and transport while adhering to infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
• Demonstrated ability to meet Surgical Technologist I competencies.
• Familiarity with and adept with all types of procedures within their specialty.
• Maintains knowledge of various types of equipment used in the Surgical Center.
• Participates in call coverage following satisfactory orientation.
• Participates in relevant educational programs and department meetings.

Responsibilities

• Performs all types of procedures and maintains advanced knowledge of a variety of procedures; may specialize in a surgical area.
• Sets up and operates equipment per physician specifications; maintains specialty cart and ensures equipment sterility.
• Precepts Surgical Technologists I and intervenes when needed.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care and aseptic technique.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties, lifting and pushing/pulling with proper technique.
• Serves as Second Assistant when necessary; assists in instrument room by cleaning and wrapping instruments.
• Adheres to infection control policies and notifies staff of equipment/supply problems.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care according to department standards.
