Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles seeks a Surgical Tech II who supports the operating room team with advanced sterile technique, instrument handling, and patient safety under the RN’s guidance. This role emphasizes independent judgment on complex procedures (Head, Neck, Neuro, Spine, Ortho) and adherence to safety standards.

You will prepare OR setup, scrub, pass instruments, transport supplies, mentor students, and contribute to ongoing process improvements.

Competenze

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technician Program is required.
• One year of experience as a Surgical Technician or as an intern is required.
• Active CST certification from CAAHEP or ABHES is required.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.

Mansioni

• Assist surgical team and prepare/sterilize instruments for procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and monitor patient status during surgery.
• Communicate with circulating nurse and team about changes in patient condition.
• Prepare operating room setup, instruments, and supplies for cases.
• Scrub, pass instruments, and assist with suturing and instrument handling.
• Transport supplies and assist with intraoperative equipment and specimens.
