Xcel Energy, based in Minneapolis, MN, seeks an Advanced Step Apprentice or Journeyman Lineman. The role focuses on construction maintenance and emergency repairs of overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.

Strong safety and teamwork focus are required. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, appropriate Line School or Journeyman credentials, and a valid Commercial Class A CDL.

We anticipate a need for one or more Advanced Step Apprentice (3rd step or above) / Journeyman Lineman to be located at our Chestnut Service Center in Minneapolis, MN. The base rate of pay for Journeyman Lineman is $62.27 hourly according to the “Exhibit A” wage scale. A 3rd Step Apprentice will be coming in at 70% of the Journeyman rate of pay at $43.59. 4th Step at 75%, 5th Step at 80%, 85% at 6th Step, 90% at 7th Step, or 95% at a 8th Step.

This position will be posted for 10 Working Days from October 26, 2026, to November 6, 2026.

• Must be physically capable of performing all aspects of electric overhead and underground distribution construction, operations, and maintenance work.

• Must exhibit a high awareness of safety, and compliance with all company safety rules

Special Requirements

• Requires participation in after-hours emergency call outs.
• This position is subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing program.

Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $43.59 to $62.27 per hour
