Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform respiratory care procedures and manage therapy in accordance with established protocols. Duties include airway and ventilator management, diagnostic testing, and patient/family education.

The role supports neonatal and pediatric patients in the NICU and during transport, under medical direction. Maryland license and NBRC/CoARC accreditation are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved and accredited respiratory program (CoARC/NBRC).
• Minimum of 62 semester hours of college credit or related degree.
• Maryland license as a respiratory care practitioner and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess oxygenation and initiate/monitor oxygen therapy and inhaled meds.
• Perform airway and ventilator management and assist with intubation when needed.
• Conduct diagnostic tests (ABG, spirometry, capnography) and document results.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care procedures and adherence to protocols.
• Supervise and coordinate care within the Respiratory Care Team as assigned.
