Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform NICU respiratory care procedures under general supervision. You will assess oxygenation, administer prescribed therapies and aerosolized medications, manage airway and ventilator support, and document patient responses to therapy.

The ideal candidate has completed an accredited respiratory therapy program, holds a Maryland license, and maintains CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certifications.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved and accredited respiratory program.
  • Maryland license as respiratory care practitioner.
  • Minimum 2 years NICU-level III clinical experience.
  • CPR certification and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP).
  • Proficiency in documenting patient care and communicating with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Assess oxygenation and document response to oxygen therapy and medical gas therapies.
  • Administer inhaled medications and follow medication reconciliation procedures.
  • Perform airway clearance and chest physiotherapy as appropriate.
  • Set up and manage ventilation, weaning, and related monitoring.
  • Educate patient and family on respiratory care procedures and rationale.
