The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Lake Wales

· AdventHealth Lake Wales is a licensed 160-bed hospital, with 24-hour emergency care and outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community and surrounding areas.
· As a part of the AdventHealth network, patients will have greater access to a wide range of innovative therapies, new research, leading-edge technology, and an extensive team of medical specialists.
· Lake Wales is located in Central Florida, between Orlando and Tampa, and is home to the Historic Bok Tower Gardens and Bird Sanctuary.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Advanced Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing and supervising respiratory clinical care responsibilities to age-specific groups. Accepts shift supervisory responsibility in the absence of a Clinical Specialist or Supervisor. Respiratory Care processes include assessing, planning, implementing, delivering, and evaluating the treatment, care, and patient needs to achieve goals. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable rules and regulations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Assess and make appropriate decisions and interventions according to patient evaluation/needs. Set patient goals and assist in developing a plan of care with the multidisciplinary team. Evaluate and interpret diagnostic data, including lab results and monitoring data. Communicate effectively with the team.
• Satisfactorily complete department orientation, airway management certification, critical care training, Infant/Pediatric Emergency training (campus specific), and advanced critical care training. Be proficient at all applicable procedures.
• Practice standard precautions and enforce safety regulations according to hospital policies. Document and charge procedures accurately to meet quality standards.
• Respond immediately to Code Blue emergencies, providing CPR per American Heart Association guidelines. Perform airway maintenance, including manual resuscitators, suctioning, intubation, extubation, bronchoscopy assistance, tracheostomy procedures, airway management, and procedural respiratory support.
• Determine proper therapy delivery devices and plans based on protocols, chart reviews, and team discussions. Deliver inhaled medications, manage patients on ventilators, and perform lung therapies.

Qualifications

• Active Florida State License as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
• BLS certification
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to accept leadership responsibility in the absence of Clinical Specialist/Supervisor, as directed.
