Requirements
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) has advanced graduate education and clinical training and provides comprehensive post-operative care services in compliance with state regulations and under the supervision of a collaborating physician.
- Obtains history and physical information from the patient
- Functions independently to perform post-operative care
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patients age-specific needs
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
- Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role
- Assists in the provision of surgical care in accordance with the facility, state, federal regulations, and accrediting body
- Monitors the effectiveness of interventions
- Facilitates the patients transition within and between healthcare settings. (example: admitting, transferring, and discharging patients)
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
- Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools
- Provides patient education
- On-call on weekends via a rotating schedule
Requirements
- Master or Doctorate Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- APRN License or PA License with active NPI (National Provider Identifier)
- At least 1 year of advanced experience or a comparable position in a hospital and/or clinical setting
- BLS/ACLS Certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
