Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking an Advanced RCIS to lead and support the Cardiac Cath Lab team. The role requires performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, scrubbing, monitoring EKG/hemodynamics, and supporting a 24/7 call team for cardiac and neuro emergencies. Precepting students and staff, and guiding procedural logistics are core responsibilities.

Required RCIS credentials, advanced cardiovascular knowledge, and leadership abilities with a focus on aseptic technique and patient safety.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET is required.

• Must meet RCIS requirements and possess advanced expertise in cardiovascular procedures.
• Able to precept students and new staff.

• Attends staff meetings, Conducts in-service and other designated training events that will enhance clinical and other required skills
• Precepts new employees and students
• Manages programs to assist in the operations of the Cardiac Cath Lab
• Displays a high level of leadership and Baystate principles
• Sets a positive engaged example for others to emulate, supports and facilitates organizational and department initiatives
• Adheres to and enforces policy's set by organization and department
• Performs duties as Flow coordinator and Procedure room lead.

Summary:

Under the management Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, the Advanced Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Advanced RCIS) assumes a leadership role as part of a patient care team that performs various cardiac, neuro and peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. The Advanced RCIS must possess advanced expertise in the theory and application of cardiovascular/peripheral vascular disease process, procedures, as well as aseptic technique. The Advanced RCIS will be able to anticipate the next steps of complex procedures by constant attention and assessment of the process and patient condition to promote a safe, expedient, quality patient outcome and positive patient experience. The Advanced RCIS will scrub and assist the physician at the procedural table. They will also monitor, identify and record pertinent EKG and hemodynamic data. They will submit charges and document chronological events of the procedure. They will set up, operate and may troubleshoot Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Rotoblator, Impella, Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), CSI in addition to any new technologies. They will act as a resource to the physician by understanding the potential application, risks and benefits of all available procedural supplies and equipment. They will anticipate, gather and deliver required items to the sterile field using aseptic technique. The Advanced RCIS will precept students and new employees. The Advanced RCIS will be an active member of a 24/7 call team supporting Cardiac and Neurological emergencies. Applications: Cerner(CIS), McKesson Horizon Cardiology, Vuemed.

Compensation Note:

The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees. Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum $43.08 - $49.52 - $58.56
