Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking an Advanced RCIS to lead and support the Cardiac Cath Lab team. The role requires expert knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral procedures, aseptic technique, and ability to anticipate steps during complex cases.

The Advanced RCIS will scrub, assist physicians, monitor hemodynamics, document events, and prep/ deliver required items to the sterile field, while mentoring students and staff.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• RCIS certification preferred or eligible.

• Manages and teaches use of diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. (FFR, IMPELLA, IABP, Angiojet, Rotoblator, CSI)
• Attends staff meetings, conducts in-service and other designated training events to enhance clinical and other required skills.
• Precepts new employees and students.
• Manages programs to assist in the operations of the Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Displays a high level of leadership and Baystate principles.
• Sets a positive engaged example for others to emulate, supports and facilitates organizational and department initiatives.
• Adheres to and enforces policies set by organization and department.
• Performs duties as Flow coordinator and Procedure room lead.

Job description

Summary:

Under the management Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, the Advanced Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Advanced RCIS) assumes a leadership role as part of a patient care team that performs various cardiac, neuro and peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. The Advanced RCIS must possess advanced expertise in the theory and application of cardiovascular/peripheral vascular disease process, procedures, as well as aseptic technique. The Advanced RCIS will be able to anticipate the next steps of complex procedures by constant attention and assessment of the process and patient condition to promote a safe, expedient, quality patient outcome and positive patient experience. The Advanced RCIS will scrub and assist the physician at the procedural table. They will also monitor, identify and record pertinent EKG and hemodynamic data. They will submit charges and document chronological events of the procedure. They will set up, operate and may troubleshoot Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Rotoblator, Impella, Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), CSI in addition to any new technologies. They will act as a resource to the physician by understanding the potential application, risks and benefits of all available procedural supplies and equipment. They will anticipate, gather and deliver required items to the sterile field using aseptic technique. The Advanced RCIS will precept students and new employees. The Advanced RCIS will be an active member of a 24/7 call team supporting Cardiac and Neurological emergencies. Applications: Cerner(CIS), McKesson Horizon Cardiology, Vuemed.

Compensation

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typicaly, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum $43.08 - $49.52 - $58.56
