Job summary

American Trim is seeking a Process Engineer in Ohio to champion lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement across departments. You will guide cross-functional teams from quoting to production, ensuring smooth transitions and cost-effective operations.

You will evaluate tooling, equipment, and automation strategies to boost efficiency, conduct lead time studies and labor analyses, and drive process optimization across the plant.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in industrial engineering, cost estimating, or process optimization.
• Proven track record leading projects and mentoring teams.
• Advanced knowledge of time studies, cost modeling, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement tools.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, cost estimating software, and Excel.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Process Engineering & Improvement (Primary)

• Champion lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs across departments.
• Direct cross-functional teams during new product launches, ensuring smooth transition from quoting to production.
• Evaluate and recommend advanced tooling, equipment, and automation strategies to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead time studies, workflow analyses, and labor utilization projects to drive process efficiency.

Quoting & Estimating

• Provide Technical support on cost estimates for new and existing products, incorporating labor standards, materials, tooling, and overhead.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to prepare accurate, competitive customer quotes.
• Maintain and refine quoting standards, databases, and process assumptions.
• Develop an understanding of the financial aspects as it relates to the P&L..
• Compare quoted assumptions to actual production results, and adjust standards as needed.

Reporting & Strategic Impact

• Lead and Provide executive-level reporting on improvement opportunities.
• Develop short-term and long-term strategies for operations.
• Document best practices and create standardized processes for quoting and industrial engineering activities.
• Develop a sound understanding of the technical, quotation, process, and management process of the business.

Education, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in industrial engineering, cost estimating, or process optimization within manufacturing.
• Proven track record of leading projects, mentoring team members, and driving measurable process improvements.
• Advanced knowledge of time studies, cost modeling, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement tools.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, cost estimating software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
