Provide advanced process control (APC) technical expertise to support the design, configuration, implementation, and online performance assessment of the Regional APC applications. Assist Operations in driving value from the application and keep the APC applications in a well-ordered state with high online time.

What will be expected from you?

  • Responsible for Advanced Control Applications (APC) in the assigned processing units/sites.
  • Identify APC use opportunities and evaluate economic incentives.
  • Develop, design, commission, and tune APC controllers.
  • Build and implement inferential models where needed.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to develop baseline performance measurements for APC applications and evaluate their performance and value.
  • Participate in analysis, design, revamping, and tuning of multivariable constraint control applications.
  • Drive value from APC applications and maintain high availability of APC models and tuning.
  • Perform post-implementation audits and track ongoing APC performance.
  • Participate in Six Sigma projects to evaluate and implement improvements.
  • Maintain expertise in process control through professional development and participation in industry events.
  • Ensure compliance with alarm management policies and standards, leading operational review meetings and rationalizing alarm settings.
  • Participate in the plant's Behavior Based Safety processes.
  • Train operators on process control changes.
  • Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental, quality, and responsible care standards.
  • Work regularly on-site and be willing to work extra hours if needed to meet production goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse team members and support company goals.
  • Participate in environmental, health, and safety initiatives and complete required training.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • At least 3 years of process control experience in petrochemical or refining industries, with 1+ years in advanced process control preferred.
  • Experience with DCS systems like Emerson DeltaV or Foxboro I/A preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of process engineering and control applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
