Job summary

The Ultrasound Technologist at UC Davis Health is responsible for performing routine and specialized ultrasound exams, producing high-quality images for physicians to diagnose, treat, and monitor disease. The role requires independent work within established protocols and may involve support during surgical procedures, with supervision from radiology leadership.

Candidates should hold ARDMS certification (abdomen and/or OB/GYN) and BLS/CPR.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification with abdomen and/or OB/GYN credentials.
• AHA/Red Cross BLS or UC Davis Health CPR required.
• Demonstrates ability to operate ultrasound equipment and produce quality images.
• Knowledge of anatomy/physiology and related pathologies.
• Understanding ultrasound physics and tissue propagation.
• Ability to adapt to new programs/equipment upgrades.
• Ability to assist during surgery or sterile procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed protocols and use checklists.
• Analytical skills for complex ultrasound studies.
• Capability to perform advanced ultrasounds on diverse patients.

Responsibilities

• 85% - ULTRASOUND SCANNING
• 10% - GENERAL LABORATORY DUTIES
• 5% - OPERATION OF ULTRASOUND EQUIPMENT IN SPECIAL APPLICATIONS AND AREAS
