Job summary

Med Source Consultants is seeking an Advanced Practitioner for per diem orthopedic duties in Bridgeport, CT. The PA will assist in ORs, provide perioperative care, document encounters, and manage orders as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required: NCCPA board certification and CT PA license, with a minimum of two years in orthopedic surgery; weekend/night shifts common.

Qualifications

• Board certification with NCCPA is required.
• Current or eligible Connecticut PA license is required.
• Minimum two years of orthopedic surgery experience as a PA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as First and/or Second Assist in the Operating Room for orthopedic procedures.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
• Document admissions, operative notes, progress notes, and discharges.
• Enter, review, and update patient orders in the EHR.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe disposition of patients.
• Cover inpatient joints reconstruction, spine, podiatry, and acute fracture care.
• Per diem schedule with weekend and night coverage, some weekdays.
