Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking an enthusiastic District Nurse to join our community care team in East Sutherland. The post offers a permanent full-time role with 36 hours per week and opportunities to influence care in patients' homes.

You should hold a Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s in District Nursing and be prepared to lead a multi-disciplinary Integrated Care Team, training staff and mentoring students where needed. A full UK driving licence is essential; a pool car is available.

  • You should also be skilled and creative and willing to work with other professionals as a leader in the Integrated Care Team.

Responsibilities

  • The post holder will offer expertise and advice in the treatment and support of patients in the community.
  • They will need to work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary and Integrated Team staff and general practice to support individuals to have good quality care in their own homes.
  • In addition, the post holder will provide training and mentorship to those within the team and to students on placements.

The post holder will offer expertise and advice in the treatment and support of patients in the community. They will need to work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary and Integrated Team staff and general practice to support individuals to have good quality care in their own homes.

In addition, the post holder will use their expertise to be a source of training and mentorship to those within the immediate team/area and as necessary to students that may have a placement within the team.

A full UK driving licence is essential and a pool car will be available, however, applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes, if required.

This is a permanent full-time post of 36 hours per week, worked in accordance with service requirements.
