Position Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Fellow is provided specialized training in managing patients within the hematology specialty across various settings. The role involves ensuring high-quality care, developing clinical skills, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. The APP - Fellow performs patient assessments, develops care plans, and participates in research and quality improvement activities.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Provide advanced nursing and medical interventions to a designated patient group.
  2. Assess patients through interviews, examinations, and review of diagnostic tests to determine diagnoses and care plans.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and preceptors to develop and document care plans.
  4. Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatments, and lifestyle modifications.
  5. Participate in research, quality improvement, and educational activities.
  6. Progress from observational roles to independent practice under supervision.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Valid Florida APRN/PA License; BLS/ACLS certifications
  • No prior experience required
Additional Requirements
  • Completion of an oral presentation and attempt to publish an article.
  • Initiate and complete a quality improvement project.
  • Sit for specialty certification if applicable.
