Job summary

Sterling St James Inc. in the Greater Sacramento area seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver comprehensive primary care in a community health setting. Relocation assistance is available, with a Mon–Fri schedule or a 4x10 option.

Responsibilities include patient evaluations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and collaborating with physicians and care teams to provide high-quality, accessible care to underserved communities.

Qualifications

• Active California RN and NP license.
• Current NP board certification.
• Current DEA and BLS certifications.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience in community health.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations including history and physical exams.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Order/interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostics.
• Prescribe medications within scope of practice.
• Develop treatment plans with Medical Director.
• Monitor progress and modify care plans as needed.
• Initiate emergency procedures when indicated.
• Provide preventive care, health education, counseling.
• Maintain accurate documentation per standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams for coordinated care.

Nurse Practitioner
Compensation: $131,000 - $170,000 annually (based on experience)
**Relocation assistance available**
Job Type: Full-time, Mondays to Fridays 8-5 PM or 4 day (10 hour shift available).

Location: Greater Sacramento area, CA (Multiple locations available)

We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide comprehensive primary care services within a community health center setting. This role offers the opportunity to serve diverse and underserved populations while working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics
• Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the Medical Director
• Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as appropriate
• Initiate emergency procedures when clinically indicated
• Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling services
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active California RN and Nurse Practitioner license
• Current Nurse Practitioner board certification
• Current DEA certification
• Current BLS certification
• 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, particularly in community health or underserved populations
• Strong commitment to serving low-income, homeless, or medically underserved communities
• Comfortable treating three patients per hour
• EPIC experience
• In-basket management competency
• Bilingual skills in English and Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto, or Spanish strongly preferred
