The Urgent Care APP (NP or PA) is responsible for providing healthcare services to individuals, families, and groups under Sentara Medical Group (SMG). Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, prescribing treatments, performing occupational medicine exams, and procedures in a walk-in Urgent Care center. Services are provided under the supervision of designated physicians. The PA is expected to participate in quality assurance, team activities, and resource management.
Requires flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and 12-hour shifts. Must be able to move between regional Urgent Care locations as directed. Ability to work independently with situational awareness and quick movement without compromising quality or customer service. Maintains continuing education credits, prescriptive authority, and acquires clinical competencies as required. Completion of NRCME within 30 days of employment is expected. Prescription authority applies to VA staff only.
