Qualifications

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN role to APRN role.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• Master's Degree required for neonatal care service area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations and develop a diagnostic and treatment plan.
• Perform and interpret routine diagnostic procedures and tests as credentialed by hospital committees.
• Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by license and policy.
• Educate patients about diseases, treatments, side effects and risks.
• Participate in medical rounds and coordinate with nursing and other healthcare staff.
• Refer patients to specialists and ensure continuity of care across care teams.
• Contribute to quality monitoring and discharge planning in inpatient settings.
• Support professional development of health care team and translate evidence-based practice.

Education

MSN required upon hire or within 3 years

Graduate of an accredited APRN program

Master's degree if neonatal care service area

Nurse Practitioner certification

Physician Assistant (PA) degree with active license

Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) license
