Job summary

MSCCN is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to deliver ambulatory endocrine care to pediatric patients under physician supervision at our Texas clinic. This is a full-time outpatient role focused on evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing management of endocrine disorders in children and adolescents.

The APP will collaborate with physicians, develop care plans, perform histories and examinations, order tests, counsel families, and provide comprehensive health

Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program approved by the AMA Council on Allied Health Education.
• Texas PA license or eligibility to transfer license to Texas.
• NCCPA certification for PA path or Texas NP certification with RN license.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient services under supervision of a Doctor of Medicine or osteopathy.
• Develops plans of care with supervising physician, and implements plans in treatment.
• Obtains patient health histories; conducts physical examinations, assesses complaints.
• Determines need for specialized medical testing; orders tests appropriately.
• Instructs and counsels patients and families regarding care plans and issues.
• Practices independently managing previously diagnosed and undiagnosed patients.
• Provides full spectrum of healthcare services including prevention, management and palliative care.
• Uses advanced health assessment skills to differentiate normal vs abnormal findings.

Job description

The Pediatric Endocrinology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides ambulatory endocrinology care to pediatric patients under the supervision and collaboration of a physician. Responsibilities include evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of children and adolescents with endocrine disorders. This is a full-time outpatient position.

Required Experience

• Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association. Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Physician Assistant as evidenced by passing the examinations given by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. OR
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a nurse practitioner from an approved certification program recognized by Texas Board of Nursing. Current R.N. license as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an approved certification program as recognized by Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer certification to Texas.

Preferred Experience

Experience in Endocrinology.
