Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our pulmonary medicine team in the outpatient setting. • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active Florida PA or APRN license.
• National board certification as PA or APRN.
• BLS/ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and review diagnostic tests.
• Manage chronic conditions such as sleep apnea, COPD and asthma.
• Provide pulmonary cancer screening and coordinate follow-up.
• Evaluate referrals and arrange tests and treatment plans.
• Educate patients on disease prevention, lifestyle changes, and medications.
• Collaborate with Oncology or Thoracic Surgery teams.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR according to policy.
• Maintain compliance with organizational guidelines.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our current team of 4 Physicians and 1 Advanced Practice Provider to provide care in the outpatient/ambulatory setting. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in Pulmonary Medicine and will work collaboratively with the supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments including history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic studies.
• Manage chronic conditions such as Sleep Apnea, COPD and Asthma.
• Provide Lung Cancer screening examinations, order appropriate diagnostic testing, and referral for appropriate follow up.
• Evaluate and triage new patient referrals and follow-up visits.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians
• Provide patient education on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication management
• Participate in care coordination with other providers such as Oncology or Thoracic surgery.
• Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
• National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida.
• BLS/ACLS
