Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale seeks a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Cardiology team. You will collaborate with cardiologists, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, and other professionals to evaluate, diagnose, and manage cardiac patients across the care continuum.

The role includes comprehensive cardiac assessments, chronic disease management, order and interpret tests, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and educate patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
• National APRN certification OR national PA certification.
• Current Florida PA or APRN license.
• BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive cardiac assessments, history, exams, and interpretation of diagnostics.
• Manage chronic cardiac conditions and triage new referrals and follow-ups.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with physicians.
• Provide patient education on disease prevention and lifestyle modification.
• Coordinate care with other providers and document encounters accurately in EMR.
• Oversee stress test supervision and related clinical tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Cardiac assessments including history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic studies.
• Manage chronic conditions
• Evaluate and triage new patient referrals and follow-up visits.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians
• Provide patient education on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication management
• Participate in care coordination with other providers and specialties.
• Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record
• Other responsibilities include stress test supervision, clinical related tasks and patient messaging.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
• National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida.
• BLS/ACLS
