Job summary

Denver Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a full-time night-provider role in our Emergency Department Clinical Decision Unit (CDU). This position bridges Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine, delivering protocol-driven care for short-term observation, with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to optimize throughput and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification (or obtained within designated timeframe).
• Minimum one year of APP experience in Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Observation Medicine, Internal Medicine, or another acute care setting
• Colorado license (or eligible) and DEA registration (or eligible).
• ACLS/EMS protocol familiarity and strong clinical judgment are required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage adult observation patients following Emergency Department evaluation.
• Perform ongoing assessments, diagnostic interpretation, and treatment planning.
• Manage patients using evidence-based observation pathways.
• Coordinate care with Emergency Medicine physicians, specialists, nursing, pharmacy, rehabilitation, case management, and social work.
• Facilitate safe discharge planning or inpatient admission.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient throughput and patient care.

Full-time nights Denver Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Department Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) as a full-time night provider.
