Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the lung transplant team. This 40-hour/week, day shift role supports inpatient care for complex transplant patients, working closely with transplant pulmonologists to manage pre- and post-transplant care including immunosuppression and respiratory therapy.

Ideal candidates include Acute Care NP or PA-C with Ohio licensure eligibility and transplant ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in ICU, transplant, or hospitalist settings preferred.
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program graduate with qualifying certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and perioperative care for lung transplant patients in collaboration with transplant physicians.

Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. The focus is on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure.**Position Summary**The APP provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. In this role, you will work closely with our transplant pulmonologists to support our growing inpatient adult lung transplant population at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. This role includes the management of medically complex patients, both pre and post lung transplant, including immunosuppression management and respiratory care. This role will be mostly inpatient with training for cross coverage to outpatient specialty care clinic. Advanced Practice Providers on this service provide highly autonomous care to a complex patient population. In this role, the practitioner will be working closely with transplant pulmonologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, coordinators, and pharmacists.
