The Ohio State University is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) on a rotating schedule at East Hospital in Columbus, OH. You will work closely with surgeons, intensivists, and the critical care team to manage high-acuity surgical patients.

The role requires current Ohio APRN authority or NCCPA-certified PA-C with eligibility for Ohio licensure, a Master's degree, and up to 2 years of critical care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in Ohio.
• Graduate of an NP program eligible to sit for national certification recognized by Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Master of Science in Nursing.
• 0 years of relevant experience required; 0-2 years critical care preferred.
• ACNP or PA-C path with NCCPA eligibility also acceptable.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-quality care to critically ill adult SICU patients in collaboration with surgeons and intensivists.
• Perform advanced clinical assessments, manage critical illness, and coordinate perioperative/postoperative care.
• Educate patients and families and participate in multidisciplinary rounds.

Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. The focus is on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure.**Position Summary**The APP provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Healthcare services provided include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate**Minimum Qualifications**· Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio· Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing· Master of Science Degree in Nursing· 0 years of relevant experience required.· 0-2 years of Critical Care experience preferred.ACNP required**OR**· Masters Prepared; Graduate of a PA-C program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).· Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a PA-C· 0 years of relevant experience required.· 0-2 years of relevant critical care experience preferred.## Additional Information:The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers comprehensive, high-acuity care to critically ill adult surgical patients in the intensive care setting. Working collaboratively with surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams, the APP manages complex postoperative and medically fragile patients across a wide range of surgical specialties, including trauma, acute care surgery, transplant, vascular, and general surgery. The APP practices at the top of their license, providing direct patient care, performing advanced clinical assessments, managing critical illness, coordinating perioperative and postoperative care, and supporting continuity across the surgical critical care service.## Location:East Hospital - Main (0398)## Position Type:Regular## Scheduled Hours:40## **Shift:**Rotating Shift***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
