Responsibilities
In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
Position Highlights:
+ 7 days on/7 days off model
+ 168, 12 hour shifts
+ Hours: 6:30pm-6:30am
+ Participate in different aspects of care at night including admissions, cross coverage, patient education, communication with patient's families and consultants, RRTs coverage.
Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.
+ Obtain patient history and perform assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
+ Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
+ Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
+ Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ Physician Assistant credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
+ Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ Orthopedic Physician Assistant preferred. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
Education:
+ Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience:
+ 1 year of experience preferred.
