Job summary

Jobtailor in Massachusetts is seeking an advanced practice provider to deliver direct patient care in ambulatory and inpatient settings for patients with complex medical conditions. Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing and Master's degree in Physician Assistant are required.
  • Licenses: MA Nursing License, MA PA license, Board authorization as APRN NRSG.
  • Certifications: ARC-PA, NCCPA, BLS; valid prescriptive authority.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care relative to diagnosis and therapeutic management in ambulatory and/or inpatient setting for complex medical or surgical patients.
  • Collaborates with faculty, fellows, residents and nursing staff to coordinate care.
  • Performs histories, physicals, care plans, orders and interpretation of tests; educates patients and families.
  • Acts as educator and clinical resource through consultations and seminars.
  • Coordinates safe, efficient, patient-centered care and liaises with visiting nurses and consult services.
  • Documents encounters clearly and timely; works with other health professionals to determine health needs.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care relative to physical diagnosis and therapeutic management in an ambulatory and/or inpatient setting to patients with complex medical conditions or surgical patients.
  • Works closely with faculty, fellows, residents and nursing staff to develop and coordinate a plan of care to meet the needs of the patient and their families.
  • Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provides education to patients and their families.
  • Acts as an educator and serves as a clinical resource for staff through consultation formal and informal education, review of literature and participation in seminars and conferences.
  • Coordinates the care of patients in order to provide safe, effective, efficient and timely patient centered care.
  • Liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff and consult services.
  • Documents clinical encounters clearly, precisely and in a timely manner.
  • Works in a collaborative relationship with other health professionals to determine health needs of patients and families.
Requirements

  • 0-1 years related work experience required.
  • Valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA
  • American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
