Job summary

Marin Gastroenterology at MarinHealth seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to deliver high-quality GI care in the outpatient clinic and assist with in-office procedures. Focus will be on education, health maintenance, and chronic disease management.

The role is full-time, weekdays only, with one dedicated administrative day per week and a supportive clinical team. California NP/PA licensure and board certification required.

Qualifications

  • NP or PA certification and licensure in California.
  • National board certification (AANP/ANCC or NCCPA).
  • DEA license and furnishing license (if applicable).
  • BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive histories and GI-focused physical exams.
  • Order and interpret labs, imaging, and GI screenings.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for GI conditions.
  • Prescribe medications per guidelines and state laws.
  • Educate patients on GI conditions, lifestyle modifications, and prevention.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and staff; provide follow-up for chronic diseases.

Job description

Under the supervision and in collaboration with board-certified Gastroenterologists, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers high-quality care to patients with digestive health concerns. This role is ideal for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) with a passion for gastroenterology and chronic disease management. The APP will provide care in the outpatient clinic, assist with in-office procedures, and focus on patient education, health maintenance, and disease prevention.

  • Full-time, weekdays only (no evenings or weekends)
  • One (1) dedicated administrative day per week
  • Supportive clinical and administrative team
Clinical Care & Assessment
  • Conduct comprehensive health histories and physical exams focused on GI-related conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and GI-specific screenings.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for conditions such as GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, and colorectal cancer screening.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state laws and clinical guidelines.
  • Educate patients and families on GI conditions, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
  • Promote shared decision-making and informed consent.
  • Refer patients to community resources and support groups as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care coordinators to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide follow-up care and monitor chronic conditions.
  • Triage patient calls and messages, ensuring timely responses and interventions.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR, Epic.
  • Participate in peer reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory standards.
The Position Requirements
  • NP: BSN required; MSN preferred. Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • PA: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Active and unrestricted license in California.
  • National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
  • DEA license and furnishing license (if applicable).
  • BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care.
Bases Salary of $130,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year + Productivity Bonuses

Compensation will be based on experience, training, clinical expertise, and overall qualifications.
