Program Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship in Hospital Medicine at Penn State Hershey Medical Center is a structured post-graduate training program for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs). The fellowship combines hands-on clinical experience, specialty rotations, and didactic education to prepare APPs for independent practice in hospital medicine.

The fellowship is divided into three core phases:
1. Foundational Training ? APPs receive structured onboarding, including clinical skills development, hospital workflows, EMR training, and supervised patient care.
2. Core Clinical Rotations ? Fellows gain in-depth experience in general inpatient medicine and specialty areas such as:
3. Advanced Practice & Elective Rotations ? Fellows tailor their experience by selecting electives in hospital medicine sub-specialties , including options such as ICU and interventional radiology.
