Qualifications

• NCCPA certification for PAs or equivalent for APRNs.
• BLS/CPR certification with hands-on validation required.
• Minimum 2 years ED/IC experience as APRN/PA.

• Take histories, perform exams, order tests, interpret results.
• Prescribe therapies and coordinate patient care with team.

Under the direction of collaborating physicians, provides care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments, and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the immediate care. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams. Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promotes high quality patient experiences. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization.
