Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to augment a supervising physician's data gathering and to institute patient care plans. You will provide health care services under direction and responsibility of a physician.

The role involves obtaining detailed histories, examining patients, ordering diagnostics, and developing management plans within the acute care surgery team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Texas license or ability to transfer license.

Responsibilities

• Augment physician's data gathering to support decisions and care plans.
• Provide healthcare services under physician supervision and responsibility.
• Take detailed patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and discuss results.
• Develop and implement patient management plans and document progress.
• Educate patients on treatment regimens and health maintenance.
• Round on and treat patients in hospital settings as needed.
