Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION


Atlantic Health System is Seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) for Hematology in Summit and Morristown, NJ


Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare systems, is seeking a Hepatology Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join AMG GI at Summit & Morristown, NJ, affiliated with Overlook Medical Center. The APP will work at both practice sites, located at 33 Overlook Road, Suite 201, Summit, NJ, and 435 South Street, Suite 230, Morristown, NJ. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm/9am - 5pm, with no call or weekends.


Responsibilities

  1. Advocate for patients, family members, and nursing personnel
  2. Support policies and services that advocate for patient rights and optimal healthcare environments
  3. Develop care plans and implement treatment
  4. Perform evidence-based interventions tailored to patient/family needs
  5. Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for resolution or prevention of patient care issues
  6. Document appropriately in medical records; prepare discharge summaries for physicians
  7. Manage health education needs of patients and families
  8. Initiate consultations and referrals to specialists when indicated
  9. Collaborate with other disciplines for consultation, teaching, management, and research to improve outcomes
  10. Prioritize daily tasks and assignments
  11. Identify opportunities for improvement to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
  12. Engage in critical analysis of practice and medical literature for self and practice improvement
  13. Participate in ongoing learning to enhance knowledge, competency, and professional growth

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master's degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
  2. 2-5 years of Gastroenterology or Sub-Specialty experience preferred
  3. Transplant experience preferred
  4. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
  5. ACLS and BLS certification required
  6. Excellent communication and computer skills
  7. Strong work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team
