Atlantic Health System is Seeking an Advance Practice Clinician to Support Hepatology in Summit & Morristown, NJ

Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare systems, is seeking a Hepatology Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) to join AMG GI at Summit & Morristown, NJ, affiliated with Overlook Medical Center. The NP will be expected to work at both Summit & Morristown practice sites, located at 33 Overlook Road, Suite 201, Summit, NJ and 435 South Street, Suite 230, Morristown, NJ. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday working 8am - 4pm/9am - 5pm, no call or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for patients, family members, and nursing personnel
  • Support policy and services that advocate for patient rights and optimal environments of healthcare
  • Develop plans of care and implementation of treatment
  • Perform evidence-based interventions consistent with patient/family needs
  • Evaluate effectiveness of interventions for resolution or preventing patient care problems
  • Document appropriately in the medical record; discharge summaries for distribution to collaborating and referring physicians
  • Manage and assist to meet health education needs of patient and families
  • Initiate consultation and referrals to appropriate specialty providers when indicated
  • Collaborate with other disciplines in consultation, teaching, management, and research activities to improve outcomes in nursing practice and enhance the healthcare environment
  • Prioritize daily tasks and assignments
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
  • Engage in critical analysis of own practice experience and the medical literature for the purposes of self and practice improvement
  • Pursue and participate in formal and independent learning activities to enhance knowledge, clinical competency, and professional development
