West Virginia University is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to provide high-quality, patient-centered neonatal care as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

The APP collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage neonatal patients, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, educate residents and students, and support education, clinical, and operational goals.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages neonatal patients within their scope of practice and area of specialty.
• Delivers evidence-based care and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participates in directing that care and education of staff and student learners (as applicable).
• Performs diagnostic procedures and therapeutic procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Advance Practice Professional (APP)is an individual with clinical and medical skills with an expertisein the care of neonatal patients . The APP completes comprehensivepatient health evaluations (including biological, social, andpsychological assessments), considering their co-morbid conditionsand overall disposition; in collaboration with the appropriateclinical/faculty team. The APP assesses and coordinates theeducational and psychosocial needs of the patient and caretakers.The APP develops and reviews the plan of care with the othermembers of the clinical team, participates in directing that care,and education of staff and student learners (as applicable). TheAPP participates in the education of residents and medical/nursingstudents and performs diagnostic procedures and therapeuticprocedures.

Provide healthcare services consistent with state law and the requirements of the professional licensing or certification authority and/or hospital privileges, where applicable . Such a service may include but is not limited to.
