University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a part-time Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider for our academic level IV NICU and Stepdown unit at UH Cleveland Medical Center RB&C. The APP will assess, plan, and implement care for medically complex neonates from birth to two years, and participate in education and research to improve patient care.

The role requires an MSN with neonatal APRN certification (or PA master’s with neonatal experience), and active Ohio RN/PA/APRN licenses;

Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider - (260006CQ)

Seeking a dedicated & passionate Neonatal APP to work part time in a supportive fast-paced environment at our academic level IV NICU and Stepdown unit at UH Cleveland Medical Center RB&C. The provider will assess, implement, and evaluate appropriate plans of care for patients in accordance with the scope of practice of a Neonatal provider and current standard of care. The Neonatal APP will manage a caseload of medically complex neonates in the acute phase and transition to home and participate in high-risk deliveries. The APP must demonstrate age-appropriate care to neonates from birth to two years old. The neonatal APP will be expected to initiate and participate in education, research, and professional activities that contribute to improving patient care, Neonatal APP program operation, or the Neonatal APPs own professional development.

A Brief Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by an Advanced Practice Provider as specified by the Ohio State Board of Medicine or Nursing and UH entity specific Medical Bylaws.

Education

• (MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing with advanced practice certification specific to the neonatal population (Required)
• Master's Degree from an accredited PA educational program (Required)

Work Experience

• 1+ years as an Advanced Practice Provider

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working as a Neonatal APP for a large healthcare system
• 2 years of experience working as a NICU RN
• PA with neonatal experience will be considered

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• NRP provider certification
• Current APRN License (Required)
• Physician Assistant (PA) (Required) and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) and
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
• NRP provider certification
• Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (Required) and
• Practice with a supervising physician (Required Upon Hire) and
• Maintain national PA Certification (Required)
