Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our clinical team. The NP/PA will provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management across inpatient, ambulatory, and outpatient settings, working with physicians in accordance with state law and hospital policy.

Candidates should have graduate NP or PA training and, ideally, credentialing with NCCPA and applicable state licenses.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Clinical working experience as an NP/PA in the specialty/service line is preferred but not required.
• APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff and go through credentialing; must provide references.

Responsibilities

• The NP/PA provides assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Obtains medical histories, performs exams, reviews tests and radiologic results, and plans patient treatment.
• May perform procedures and prescribe treatment within state guidelines and scope of practice.
• Ensures appropriate documentation per hospital policy and regulatory requirements.
• Engages in professional development, safety reporting, and may mentor trainees.
